This shall be a tribute to the Byte Worlds Singapore Team 2007. You guys mean the world to me and I thank every single one of you for being the team in which I’m proud to be in.
Firstly we have Valerie, our very own world champion. This girl is really special to the whole squad and honestly, everyone loves her. With her dimples, her smile just makes you wanna smile too. With her cheekiness and her sophisticated relationship with collin it seems that this girl would never rest. Born with a heart of gold, she’d never fail to do what’s right and keep it that way.
Now, Joanne is a tough nut to crack and don’t get me wrong this girl is seriously someone whom you’d not wanna mess with. After all she is my classmate and one heck of a vocal sailor. Really brings the meaning of “speaking loud and proud” to life.
Zi Yang, captain of Team Singapore, is another hardcore sailor. Trains hard, works hard and sails hard. Come what may, he will solve anything within his path and never looks back. He has the maturity to really focus on priorities and not letting go out of sight what is right and wrong.
Katja is a real fighter. The oldest in the squad and yet she’s the tiniest girl in it. Her perseverance and commitment to excelling at whatever she pursues really brings out the sailor in her. Despite her small built, you can see her hiking her heart out and keeping up with the heavier guys, not to mention her godlike downwind. I really sympathize with her for not getting the girls title but she has taken it very well and we all admire her for that.
Collin Andrew Lim Han Yang. This guy is one heck of a corner banger. When I’m not there to bang the corners to infinity and beyond, he’s there taking my place. He almost became the top Singaporean but due to some careless mistakes and wrong corner banging, he dropped to end in 8th. Still a commendable effort by collin. Bravo collin.
Mondy aka Edmond. This freaking GEP is one weird person. Sparkling lemon juice? I don’t think so mondy. Is that RIGHT??? Haha.. yeah.. He’s also a living breathing calculator. He helped me calculate my points whenever I needed it and im thankful for that mondy. Cheers.
My dearest Rachel. What is the squad gonna do without you? You’re probably the one whom all the jokes get targeted at and yet you are unaffected by it. But you’re really a great person, friend and sailor Rachel. I do hope that you pursue your sailing career further because you are really up there.
Insanity! Ain’t that right William? Haha.. yeah.. Despite his odd races in worlds, he is a commendable sailor and with the right focus and drive, he can really excel. Go for it William.
Our very own teddy bear Russell, he’s so blur that it seems as though your talking to a wall. Haha.. but I find it fairly amusing to see Russell have the hots for our coach, Mabel. (5 year GAP!)
Pon King King is our runner in the squad having the best 3km run timing in the squad. Winner of the Ronstan Pre-worlds and also runner-up for the speakerbus practice race, it goes to show that he can really go far if he pursues the sport. Good on you Zachary.
Fats. Eugene Eugene.. The rafflesian. And to think he’s only sec 3 this year. I do hope that he’s gonna try for next year’s worlds held in London and I think he can really win if he tries hard enough and focus more on going for his boat speed.
Mark. Through worlds he has really gotten an outrageous amount of bad luck. Phone went swimming, and his results are pretty low. I know mark to be a real qualified sailor and I can only say that its just a stroke of bad luck. Mark can easily take my spot at the top of the rankings and if he beat me before he sure can do it again.
Christopher Wong. My freaking gay roommate. You’re a real weirdo you know that? Try to use your words wisely and please do something regarding your homosexuality.
Last but not least Sabrina. The back of the fleet but at the top of our hearts. She is really a diamond in the rough. Upon arrival in Thailand, she fell sick. Yet despite this, she never gave up and sailed her heart out. A real commendable effort Sabrina and honestly, I respect you for that.
So there you go guys, my tribute to YOU people. This is not goodbye, but merely a farewell. Thank you all for being the amazing squad you guys have been to me. Thanks.
